If You Close Your Eyes It's A Beautiful World

WWWWW

Where: To Las Vegas, Nevada
What: Electric Daisy Carnival 2013 which is a three day musical carnival taking place in a massive race track outside in Las Vegas which hosts hundreds of the worlds best djs.
When: June 8th 9th and 10th 2013

Who I intend to go with:
-those who share my love for travel and new and exciting experiences
-those who I know and trust
-those who are up for anything

This trip to Las Vegas will revolve around this three day festival.  Although I will enjoy fine dining, shopping and wandering around the streets, the main attraction for ME for THIS TRIP is EDC.

1..2..3......

Day 1: Friday June 8th 2013
Arriving in Vegas at approximately 11am, we will check into the Encore Hotel.  The rest of the day is going to be left to do whatever we feel like, be it shopping, swimming or taking naps.  At 8pm, we will be ready to face the crowds, the lights, the screaming and the madness for our first night there which will continue until 6 in the morning.

Days 2, 3 and 4 will follow suit in the most relaxed way possible until we head home on Monday, June 11th.
I. WANT. EDC.

Watching the Sun

The sunrise sets are the most appealing to me.  I have never been to such an event that goes throughout the entire night and into the early hours of the morning.  Because this event takes place outside, we will experience the sun rising every morning.  Absolutely beautiful.

The Lifestyle...

Rave culture is something that has strongly captured my attention and has progressively consumed my life.   From trance to tech-house, this music is so inspirational and uplifting and is something that I have never experienced before.  It allows you to be free, to be anyone you want to be.  This music is an outlet.  This is a lifestyle.  This lifestyle is so accepting of different people from different walks of life and I think that is one of the main reasons I am so attracted to this.  This carnival means more to me than any other show or concert I could imagine.  This experience will be nonetheless life changing as I will be utterly consumed with the lights, the people, the music and the rest of this magical and almost enchanted atmosphere which I would consider my utopia.  Full of love, hope and excitement, this trip is everything I could ask for and more at this very moment.

Kill them with Positive Vibes

TILL TONIGHT

What kind of traveller I want to be...

Care-free while still being aware of dangers and my surroundings. I want to be anything I want to be; I want to wear whatever I feel like & dance like nobody is around me.  I want to have the minimum planned- I know where and when the different artists are playing, but I will allow myself to be open to exploring new places without constraining myself.

This trip is about allowing myself to leave past worries and fears alone.

What I hope to get out of this experience...

To have felt like I am a part of something much larger than me.
To have been gracious and kind enough to have met and shared beautiful moments with people whom I never would have crossed paths with.
-         I am not some lost soul who is searching to find myself through this experience.  Rather, I know what I love and this trip embodies so many things that are important to me in my present age, lifestyle and state of mind.
If i commit to my intentions a hundred percent, I will have found beauty in places that I did not know existed; I will have allowed myself to fall out of reality and enter this counter universe with others who are all on different paths in life.

now you can see her dancing…oh my god she's beautiful

Expenses and Itinerary

Airfare: 700$ on WestJet- leaving very early on Friday morning so I will be able to have the morning to shop, check out restaurants and nap before the afternoon and night ahead.  I will be returning on the Monday sometime after 11pm because I hate flying during the day and this will let me have a last evening in Vegas.

Hotel: split between the 2 of us, it is approximately 4000$ (2000 room/night) staying at the Encore Hotel which is one of the top hotels in Vegas and is close to the carnival.

Festival ticket: 215$ for the 3 days from 8pm to 6 am

Extra costs: there are outdoor pool parties during the day, which cost about 100 each.  I plan to go to a minimum of 2 so that should come to about 200$
On top of that, the transportation around Vegas will be done by foot and mainly taxis so that would add another 200$.

Food: The restaurants will most likely be expensive especially when I include the alcohol as well.  I expect to be spending about 200 dollars a day on dining so that should amount to about 800 for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

While in Vegas, I want to take advantage of the shopping and will be bringing with me approximately $2000 to spend on clothes, accessories and gifts for my family at home.

The Grand Total of this vacation: just over 8000 dollars
